| Koos is the child of the Dutch Nynke Fennema and the Japaneese Shinichi Kato. And what a beautiful child it is. Koos is about 10 years old and I only recently met him. My meeting was in Amsterdam at Sukha on the Haarlemmerdijk. Koos was born in Amsterdam, at the kitchen table between a cup of coffee and a stack of sketches. Koos is the child of a dream that lasted for nearly twenty years, inspired by Japan and grounded in Dutch soil. The dream was to make something simple, to do something different, to draw a line by hand and to make something that stays. |
